22December, Kathmandu: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said that all preparations have been made to declare the country completely electrified within the next one to one and a half years. He said that day would come soon at the inauguration of the Inruwa Substation at Sunsari on Friday.
He said that the electricity generated from the Arun and Tamor rivers and their tributaries will flow into the national transmission system, to supply east-west electricity, not only for bilateral electricity trade between Nepal and India but also for sub-regional and regional electricity trade.
With the inauguration of this substation, which can transmit about 4,000 megawatts of electricity, the background for increasing the quality and reliability of electricity transmission and distribution in the region has not only been prepared but a new chapter has also been added to the success journey of the government’s Bright and Prosperous Nepal Program.
